STEPS TO FOLLOW TO CLIP IN EXTENSIONS

Step 1: Have your hair brushed

The first thing you have to do is to brush your hair meticulously using a hair extensions brush. The importance of brushing your hair is to remove any tangles that will make it difficult to clip in hair extensions. So, make sure that no knots or twists remain on your hair before moving to the next step. You should also brush your clip in hair extensions.

Step 2: Begin with a 3-clip weft

Separate a section of your hair using a finger or a comb and clip the rest with a hair clip. Take a 3-clip weft and brush it well before you go ahead to clip it into your hair. Again, make sure that there are no tangles before you clip it into your hair. In order to ensure that the weft fits perfectly well into the sectioned hair, you can gauge it against your head. Afterwards go to the middle point of your head and clip in the central clip into the roots of your hair. It’s imperative to ensure that you clip it as near to the roots as possible.

Also, it’s important to ensure that you don’t allow the clip to go too far down. To prevent this from happening, you can raise that particular section from the scalp so that you have more control. Essentially, you should try as much as possible to have a more secure base. The moment you are sure that the middle clip is rightly clipped in, go ahead and clip the left side and the right. Use this process for every other weft.

Step 3: Go for a smaller 4-clip weft

Separate a piece of hair, like an inch or so, above the clipped weft, and have the rest of the hair clipped using a hair clip. A point to note here is that this particular section should be above your ears. Now pick the smaller 4-clip weft. Make sure that you brush it to remove any knots. In order to make sure that you remove all knots, consider doing a bottom-up brushing. After brushing, using the sectioned piece, measure the weft so that it fits perfectly on your head.

Go to the middle of your head and clip the two clips at the middle into the roots of your hair. This process should be followed by clipping in the side clips. Be careful to ensure that the weft doesn’t have bumps. You will achieve this by stretching it to the sides slightly when clipping the central clips.

Step 4: Follow it up with a larger 4-clip weft

Split a straight thin section of hair, like an inch, on top of the second clipped in weft. Make sure that you clip away the other part of your hair. Take note that this particular part should be at the broadest part of your head. Now take the largest 4-clip weft. Brush it well and then measure it using your head to be certain that it fits. Ensure that the two clips at the middle are clipped in the middle of the separated hair and then clip in the side clips.

Step 5: Take another 3-clip weft

Split a thin straight part of hair, almost two inches, below your head’s crown and then clip the other part of the hair with a hair clip. Now it’s the time to take the second 3-clip weft. Just like you’ve been doing for the other wefts, brush it well to make sure that there are no knots and then measure it against your head so that it fits well. Find the central part of your head and clip in the middle clip into your hair’s roots, and then do the same for the side clips. At this point, all the large wefts at the rear part of your head have been clipped.

Step 6: Go for the 2-clip wefts

Basically, these are the wefts that take up the sides of your hair. Their function is to add capacity on the sides and allow your hair to blend well with longer extensions. Split a straight thin part of hair, about 2 inches, on top of the ear on the side, and then clip the other part of the hair. With a 2 clip weft, place it as close as possible to your hairline. After this, place the other clip close to the back of your head. Repeat the same process on the other side.

Step 7: Now go for the 1-clip wefts

Split a part of hair and right over the 2 clip weft and clip the other piece of hair. Brush two 1 clip wefts and clip them onto a small section of hair as near to the roots as possible, on top of the 2 clip weft. You can also choose to clip it on any section that you feel requires more blending. Be sure to repeat the process on the other side. After you are through, you can now brush your hair and look at yourself in the mirror to ensure that all the wefts are completely covered. You can feel free to do any necessary adjustments as you admire the clipped in hair extensions.
